Graduating Cum Laude from the Honors Program at Loyola University New Orleans in 2002, Attorney Hatfield earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature with a minor in Spanish. She then pursued her Juris Doctorate degree and a Bachelor of Civil Law at Louisiana State University Law Center, completing her studies in 2005.
During law school, Attorney Hatfield actively participated in clinical workshops, including the Juvenile Representation Workshop, gaining valuable courtroom experience. She distinguished herself as a finalist in the LSU Law School Criminal Flory Trials.
Upon passing the Louisiana State Bar, Attorney Hatfield began her legal career as an associate at a boutique construction law firm, focusing primarily on construction litigation. In this role, she handled rigorous litigation cases and represented general contractors and subcontractors in various legal matters, including non-payment claims, delay claims, defect litigation, Public Bid Law disputes, and Private Works Act disputes.
In 2009, Attorney Hatfield served as President of the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys. Previously, she held the positions of Vice President for the 2007-2008 term and Secretary for the 2006-2007 term. Attorney Hatfield remains an active member of the Dean Henry George McMahon Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
Attorney Hatfield established her practice in Greater Baton Rouge over 14 years ago. In family law, she has handled over 300 cases in The Family Court in and for the Parish of East Baton Rouge alone, and an additional 200 cases in other districts. In criminal law, Attorney Hatfield has amassed a portfolio of over 1500 court appearances. Fluent in Spanish, she offers legal services to the Hispanic community.
